A frequent visitor to the Swamp parties was the Catholic chaplain of the area, Father John Patrick Mulcahy, a native of San Diego and former Maryknoll missionary. He was lean, hungry-looking, hook-nosed, red-haired, and, in the eyes of the Swampmen, one of a kind.

At the present moment I've only ever read the first novel and that was years ago. Thankfully, a copy is currently winging it's way from California to assist my failing memory. Also on my reading list are M*A*S*H Goes to Maine and M*A*S*H Mania (if I can ever find it); I've decided to skip the books in the middle as they were (rumored to be) ghostwritten and last book retcons them completely.
